I grew up listening to old Hindi songs which often described women’s face when defining or admiring a woman’s beauty. For me, the definition of beauty was concise but still extended to the depth of the soul – An appealing smile with decent features, beautiful eyes, curiosity in those eyes about everything like a child, sincerity in the expressions of the face, a heart that can wish good and believes in the goodness of others, a mind so calm and a soul that is contented from within. I also believe beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder.
I never realized when the description of a woman’s beauty slipped from her face to everything below her neck.
It took me real long years to realize beauty isn’t what it naturally is but what you deliberately show. The bare skin was more beautiful than a glowing face, prettied up, the body covered from neck to ankle. I wouldn’t blame only ‘Men’ for this. God’s creation, ‘Woman,’ just transformed and evolved their thought process to emphasize external beauty, bare skin color, temporary youthfulness, revealing dress sense, and lustre of the body.
