Emotional Quotient of Manager “Riding a horse and showing sympathy to the horse you are riding on.” Does it sound illogical? We need to exercise our body, push hard to keep it healthy at the same time care for our body. We need to hide our emotions and be harsh or practical towards our child to push him to achieve his life goals, integrities and personality. But when it comes to team members, Managers want to have emotional quotient higher than essential just to portray a good human being. The company is dependant on people to a major extent and here we see Managers not pushing the team to break the psychological barriers and evolve themselves to deliver results but sympathise overtly to create timid, lazy, reasoning minds set to achieve nothing. Corporate ecosystem is like the mahabharat battle field, Chariot is the Company , people are horses, Managers are like the charioteer Krishna who drives the Horses as well as advises Arjuna in Mahabharat. And Arjuna is the Management who will keep fighting the battle to succeed. Krishna never advises Arjuna wrongly and never drives the horses in the wrong direction or shows unwanted sympathy. The ethical responsibility needs to be intact to achieve goal.
