We didn’t return to yoga, Ayurveda, or organic living because we rediscovered their value.
We returned because the West validated them.
What was once dismissed as outdated suddenly felt credible when it received foreign approval. Only when Western institutions researched it, branded it, and endorsed it did we start believing in what had always been ours.
That is the depth of our crippled mindset.
We don’t trust our roots until someone powerful certifies them.
We don’t respect our wisdom until it is exported, repackaged, and sold back to us.
The truth is harsh:
Our problem was never ignorance—it was dependence on validation.
Until we learn to trust our own knowledge without external approval,
we may practice tradition—but we will never truly own it.
Breaking free doesn’t start with adopting practices again.
It starts with reclaiming confidence in our own thinking.
That’s the real reform we still owe ourselves. convinced with it. But because the western started believing. We are still not able to come out of our crippled mindset.
