Idolizing Parents or Others?

Why did you look up to your father or mother? They were superior to you in many aspects and set life goals for you to chase. Does the current generation look up to their parents? Only half of them, or hardly any. Why? Because their visibility has increased. They have a platter of people to learn from and chase.

How? Thanks to social media. Today’s youth is more engaged on social media than with their family. They want to turn down every positive trait of their parents to show their superiority by dreaming of being someone else whom they follow or chase. They want to have a body like Dwayne Johnson, dance like Hrithik Roshan, sing like Drake, be rich like the Ambanis, own a company like Elon Musk, or run an organization like Sundar Pichai—without knowing the efforts, sacrifices, and lives of all these people closely.

So, somewhere along the way, many of them fall out because they are chasing the visible, partial life of a successful personality without knowing what goes into it. When you chase too many directions, you don’t reach anywhere.

So, should the children of today follow their dream personalities or not? Definitely yes, but with better wisdom, a single goal, unshakable focus, staying close to reality, preparedness to sacrifice, and respect for parents who have your back in your mission whenever you fall. You were chosen to learn many things, knowingly or unknowingly, from your parents because you were born as their child without their or your choice and preference. Destiny definitely chose you and them to come together for a purpose. Honor that decision.”
