Work and life aren’t opposites

There is a very wrong notion about work and personal life. Your work is not “eating” your personal life. Most often, your inability to manage work effectiv ely is what disturbs your personal life. In reality, your personal life exists comfortably because your work is providing for it. Imagine a life where you simply wake up, eat, sleep, and spend your entire time on hobbies and leisure — things that may give temporary happiness but may not even be sufficient to provide a decent life for you or your family. Work is not the enemy.

Lack of balance, discipline, clarity, and capability is.

A meaningful career gives:

• Financial security

* Stability for family

* Self-respect

* Exposure

* Growth

* Purpose

* The ability to support dreams — yours and others’ The problem begins when people romanticize escape from responsibility while still wanting the comforts that responsibility pays for. Yes, personal life matters. Deeply. But work is not separate from life. It is one of the pillars that sustains it. The goal is not to “avoid work.” The goal is to become capable enough to handle both work and life with maturity.
