There are no success stories which spoke of working 40 hours a week and got a salary of a CEO untill they became one. And here we are with a generation who wants work from home, weekend offs, work life balance, 4 days working and still expecting the position and salary of Satya Nadella or Tim Cook.

Working hours depend on our role, designation, industry, phase of our career, and the sector on a professional front.
Motivation, plans for self, exposure, analysis a person wants to build, pattern of working, milestones set for self on a personal front.
Seventy hours working is for people who want to have 7-dimensional exposure to the business they are in, the overall growth of the organisation, industries with more manual interactions or physical involvement, start-ups, or when timelines are delayed, and the target date is fast approaching, roles, where you are required to be present round the clock interacting with multiple departments, or at senior levels where you ought to be accessible round the clock and hold higher accountability or of you are impatient to achieve success
Decisions can be self-driven if awareness exists or be guided by the mentor if the person is willing to give in. But today’s generation, we see people defining work-life balance with fewer work hours alone. The life they speak of balancing is going into unnecessary travel, laziness, procrastination, social media, party time and escapism. So eventually, I wonder what they want to balance. The time they take away with the reason of spending with family is spent on the above activities.
Further we are raising a generation of lazy, demanding, impatient crowd with all noise and no results.
